I am having trouble finding binoculars that fit my interpupilary distance (which is fairly wide). Basically every pair of binoculars I've owned have to be opened to their widest stance. For some reason, after just a few weeks of use, they all give me double vision when opened that far. I have always purchased inexpensive models that usually cost around 100 dollars, but if I could find a nice pair that would work with my wide eyeset I would be willing to spend considerably more money. One problem I'm finding is that none of the specs for the binoculars mention the IP distance. Could anyone help me with some information on which models have the widest IP distance? I'm a birder and need to be able to focus on small objects without the double vision. I have good eyesight and do not wear glasses or contacts if that matters. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Mostly going to be a try before you buy scenario, but you should at least nail down your IPD for those few models that do list IPD. Also, much of your double image problems are as likely an issue with optical quality as anything. Cheap binos are much more likely to give you double images. _________________ Thanks for posting with us
