Joanie......Sorry for the 3rd post. Can`t seem to get it all done with just one or even two!
OK! What`s the scoop with the 7x36 Swift Eaglet? I just found out about this one earlier today by phone from a friend. He says, that I should REALLY and definitely consider the Eaglet over any Green Ring Leupold.
What`s your take on the 7x36 Eaglet in comparison to the 8x42 Pinnacle??
Thanks again Joanie! I do keep ya busy don`t I?.... |

I forgotten what were your criteria, but these two are going to have pretty much the same brightness. I have heard good things about the 7x36, but I really do not want to pay 400 for another toy. I would pay 200! Sounds pretty neat. Plus I do not have a 7x. I think my first 7x will be a good quality 7x35 porro. Much cheaper.
If on the other hand you are looking for a wide field of view, you can get a wider field in an 8x32, for instance a Pentax. |

Hi
Not sure who you talked to, but I disagree. Not all Wind Rivers are the same and, in my tests, both in the field and on the test targets, the Pinnacles was the better optic. I loved the way the 7x Eaglet handles, but I would have preferred a wider FOV for a 7x and there was some noticeable barrel distortion. _________________ Thanks for posting with us

I`ll probably go with the Pinnacles. I did read one review where someone stated that they were getting the "like looking down a barrel" affect with their new Pinnacle. Kinda like tunnel vision??.......Any opinions on that? |

Hi
All a matter of perspective. FOV on the 10x is not great, but adequate. Might be more an issue for someone who doesn't have a lot of excpereince with a bino, but not an issue for an experienced user. If he is concerned with FOV, dropping down to the 8x will not lose any significant detail, but will open things up a bit. _________________ Thanks for posting with us
