I have a .22 and it has the groved reciever for a scope. I bought a tasco red dot scope with the type of mount that would fit on my 22 but the mount on the scope is to wide for my 22. It must fit only a centerfire rifle. Is there any type of mount i could put on my 22 to make this scope work.
Thanks

The 22 rifles typically have a 1/2 inch grooved rail. If the mount that you bought is too wide it is probably the standard 1 inch mount that goes on the standard 1 inch wide "Weaver" rail system. You need to specifically ask for the 1/2 inch wide mounts to fit that tasco scope. A lot of smaller scopes made specifically for 22 caliber rifles and air rifles came with mounts set for 1/2 inch rails. The popular red dot sits go on anything from handguns to rifles to shotguns and if they come with mounts will typically be for the standard 1 inch rail, so you just need to get the smaller width mounts and make sure you still get the right diameter rings to fit around the body of the red dot sight, whatever it is. It should say on your original package, such as 20mm or 30mm, etc.
