I just got a Bushnell Voyager from a friend. I can see through the top scope but not through the main scope. The view is black! I am a beginner that will welcome any advise you may have.

Thanks You,

Hi

Please take a look at our article on how to use a telescope for lots of basic information.

Telescope FAQs, http://www.opticsplanet.net/telescope-faq.html

Here are some of the most common oversights a beginner will make.

- If your Voyager is a reflector, remove the caps (both) on the top of the telescope (end near the focuser).

-Use the low power eyepiece (one marked with the biggest number) to start

-Be sure to align the finderscope (see the article)

- Start with a bright object like the moon.
