Hi as my title says I need a telescope for that amount of money. Reflectors are nice but I want a refractor because I have heard that refractors can give good sharp views. Compurterization is not needed. The main thing I want to view is the moon, jupiter, saturn , venus, and some other things. what would you recommend?

Hi

Yes, refractors have excellent image quality and are a good choice for planetary work, but you'll be limited to a smaller refractor at that price. Try the Celestron C4R, http://www.opticsplanet.net/celestron-c4-r-advanced-refracting-telescope.html or the Firstscope 90EQ, http://www.opticsplanet.net/celestron-firstscope-90eq-telescope.html

Hi

For about $750, you can get a bigger refractor and a better mount in the Meade LXD75 AR5 EC, http://www.opticsplanet.net/meade-lxd75-ar-5ec-achromatic-refractor-telescope.html
