I just purchaed a Bushnell Voyager Reflector Telescope 525x3. I think I really got ahead of myself because I've never owned a telescope. The directions really had me lost in setting things up. I seem to get everything wrong except for the tripod. The instructuions were not made for someone who has never set up a telescope. Then I did not receive the 3x Barlow lens. I have the orher two 20mm and 4mm. Can I just attach one of these without the 3x barlow lens to start stargazing? I'm still not sure I have it set up correctly. Do you have instructions to set the telescope for dummies. (Something in explicit detail with pictures) I still have pieces in the bag, I have it mounted but I'm not sure if I set it up properly. Also do I have to have the cradles on the telescope? The cradles did not come with it but in the instruction manual they are on the telescope.

Candace,
Telescopes can be a very involved and entertaining hobby. I don't know if there are any better instruction manuals available. In fact, getting the tripod together, is usually the hard part. You should always try a library or bookstore, as they have many books available. However, the best way to learn is with someone's help. I suggest contacting and possibly joining a local astronomy club. You will very often have a chance to sit and explore options of how telescopes work, and even are able to see other telescopes in action.

You can use the eyepieces without the barlow lens. The barlow lens strictly take what ever eyepiece you put it in, and triples its magnification. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you. Thank you.
