I have an old celestron 15-60x60 and I want to upgrade. The Zhumell 118 looks good. Is it? Thanks

Hi

A 118mm spotting scope is definitely overkill for most applications. A quality 80mm scope or even a quality 60mm scope will handle any spotting scope job and be far more portable in the bargain. If you go with the big Zhumell, be prepared to invest in a heavy-duty and expensive tripod to support the weight. This is no scope to put on a flimsy tripod.

The Zhumell will compare in quality to similar products from Barska and Konus. Don't be fooled into thinking that a super-sized objective is a substitute for a quality objective. I doubt you will be pleased with image quality at 60x, let alone 90x.

Thank you Joanie. I will look into smaller scopes.
