I was also wondering if this is any good? Could i see a .38 mark at around 300 yards? Any information about it could be helpful, thanks.

Hi

This scope will be at its extreme limit for that distance and that application, but under good conditions, it should work. I'd rather recommend a better quality scope such as the Bushnell Elite 20-60x80ED, http://www.opticsplanet.net/628045.html Optics will definitely give you more margin for error.
