Does anyone have or know of anyone who has / had a NCSTAR 30-90x90mm?

I am wondering if this would be a good buy at under $200 for our upcomming trip to Yellowstone NP.

Any help?

Hi

We don't carry that brand.

Under $200, these are the two I'd look at

Celestron Ultima 80, http://www.opticsplanet.net/celestron-ultima-80-spotting-scope.html

Bushnell Trophy 20-60x65, http://www.opticsplanet.net/bushnell-20-60x65-trophy.html

Hi, I know you don't carry this brand, but have you heard anything about it? I can't seem to find it reviewed anywhere...
Thanks

Hi

It takes more than a big objective to get you good optical performance in a spotting scope. Price is a much better indicator of performance and quality.

We do carry the NC Star spotting scopes.

I've looked thru the NcStar spotters at gun shows. Not really impressive. I've never used one in the field, but I did purchase one of their riflescopes. It looked good when you held it up by hand and could move your head around a little bit, but when you put in on a rifle, your eye had to be in exactly one place to see anything. If you were slightly off to one side, you couldn't see squat. I ended up throwing that scope in the trash. Based on my experience with the riflescope, I would not recommend any of their products. For sure, I will not buy another.
