I would like to purchase a rangefinder for hunting (Deer & Varmints) and would appreciate your opinion. Which would be the better deal of the two below:

Bushnell Yardage Pro Compact 800 Range Finder 8x 200880 Demo $220
Bushnell Yardage Pro Scout Rangefinder 6x 200001 $180 (After Rebate)

Also, is there something better for about the same price? I noticed hardly any comment on the Leupold rangefinders. Is there something wrong with them?

Hi

The Yardage Pro 800 will have more range and a higher magnification, so in terms of performance, is the better unit.

The Leupold Rx models are relatively new (this spring), so not a lot of feedback yet. You'll need to spcifiy which Rx model when making comparisons, since these vary greatly in features.

Thanks for the response. I was looking at the RX-II in the Leupold. Also, is the Yardage Pro 800 a much older model than the Scout or Legend? One last question, Are the Bushnells good units or is there something better out there for about the same money?

Hi

The 800 was discontinued last year, but there are still some left.

As with any type of optical instrument, sampe price and features equals the same quality. The Leupold RX II is definitely a good choice for the money.
