Pinseeker 1500 won't read past 100yds

I bought a Pinseeker 1500 in March this year and I've used it sporadically since. On holiday this week I noticed that the unit wouldn't range past 100 yards - sometimes much less - even after changing the battery.
I wonder if this is a problem with this device or have I just been unlucky?

Hi

Keep in mind that 1500 yards is the maximum and will only be realized on highly reflective targets under ideal conditions. Under average conditions, for ordinary reflective targets, the distance will be less. For non-reflective targets, the distance will be much less. I'd say to give it another try or two on a wide variety of targets. If it still proves unsatisfactory, let us know.
