What are light adjusting lenses?

Light adjusting lenses go from a clear to a grey color. They do not get as dark as our regular sunglasses, so if the wearer has sensitive eyes to the sun these are not the glasses for them. They do have all the uv filters in them but they don't get as dark as the regular sunglasses.

Because they are made of 100% poly carbonate they tend not to get as dark as some of the TRANSITIONS(R) glasses that your customers may have seen at a eye doctors office because the eye doctor's offices don't always use 100% polycarbonate materials. They use many different types of lenses such as glass and mixtures of polycarbonate and other materials mixed in so they may get a little darker then ours.

I have a pair of prescription glasses that I get from my eye doctor that are TRANSITIONS(R) lenses made of a mixture of polycarbonate and some other material called N.X.T. and they are very similar to our light adjusting lenses. You are still going to be able to see the wearer's eyes so they don't get all that dark, but they do change. If the customer feels that his eyes are too sensitive in the sun for a lighter sunglass he may want to think about using the regular Xl-1 with the smoke and clear lenses and interchange them as needed.

We must use 100% polycarbonate for the impact resistance and to pass all of the testing we get done on them with the military and the anzi standards. Unfortunately, they may not get as dark as some customers expect them to get if they have seen others that may have not been made of 100% polycarbonate. I hope this info will help.
