Bushnell Night Vision Goggles or ATN NV Binoculars?

I am a police officer and am trying to decide between two sets of NVG, the Bushnell NV 1X20 Gen 1 goggle and the ATN Gen 1 Night Cougar binoculars. I am purchasing this on my own and thus cannot afford more than Gen 1. I would be using this for surveillance and stakeouts as well as on the firearms range. Which do you think would be a better choice?

The Bushnell Night Vision unit looks smaller and less clumsy, but the Bushnell NV 1X20 Gen 1 not been available yet, and we don't know when it will be. The ATN is available. Performance on gen 1 products is the same. In this case, the ATN Night Cougar Night Vision Binoculars Goggles would be a better choice because it's the only choice. The unit works fine, as well as any gen 1 product.
