I'm trying to find some good, unbiased advice for the cameras Pentax 33WR and the olympus stylus 300. The olympus is a little less expensive, but the Pentax seems to be more durable and more water-resistant. The picture quality on both seem to be the same. The camera will be used in tropical and beachee weather for a couple of years. I'm just trying to figure out which is the all around better camera. Any advice? Thanks -- Andy

Hi

The Pentax 33WR has been upgraded to the Pentax 43WR with 4MP, but otherwise it is similar to the OLympus. Tough call as I have owned both brands and liked them both.

If the Pentax is, in fact, more weather resistant it makes sense to go with the Pentax for the conditions you describe.
