is there any advantages to paying the extra money for an eotech

The EOTech is basically the combat version with an extra metal hood for
protection and better sealing of the switch mechanism. Otherwise, the same
units.

I had the "commercial" bushnell version for about six months. It got knocked around a little bit and would no longer hold zero. I sent it in for warranty work and then sold that version and picked up an EOTech 512. That hood adds alot of durability to the unit. I think it is well worth the few extra dollars.
