I have a pair of Suncloud rose aviators that need some repairs. The plastic frame is cracked. There are light scratches on the lenses/anti-reflective coating. Can things like this be repaired?

Thank you for your interest in www.OpticsPlanet.com. Unfortunately we can not repair sunglasses. I would suggest contacting the manufacturer, as they should be able to help. If you would like, we have many new sunglasses available here, http://www.opticsplanet.net/sunglasses.html. Give us a call if there is any way we can assist you. Good Luck.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.

hb -

I wanted to ask if you found a place to get your Suncloud sunglasses repaired. I just broke mine; and I just learned Suncloud is no longer in business.

Thank you,
Mike

They are back in business. I have an old pair that they can't recoat. I don't think the new owners have any old frames. I'm still trying to find their full product line.

Good Luck

Wow SunCloud is back in business!
I have 3 pair- 2 the frames broke but the lens are perfect, the 3rd, my first pair and favorite just lost a nose piece. I as thinking of going to an eyeglass store and seeing if I can match up the lens to a frame.
I would LOVE to know where I could purchase new ones.
I can't seem to break down and buy anything other than SunCloud.
If you know of any info please post.
Thanks

I too have a pair of Suncloud Rose aviators that need some repairs. My black plastic frame cracked yesterdasy around the nosepiece. Mine, however, other than this are in mint condition. Does anyone know how to get in touch with the "new" Suncloud to find out if they can be repaired, or better yet if a replacement frame can be purchased? I seem to remember that at one point Suncloud was owned/marketed by Bosch and Lomb.

I too have rose aviators with a broken frame. I contacted the luxottica group that took over for B&L and was told they went out of business long ago and parts are not available.
DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO CONTACT THE "NEW" SUNCLOUD?

Sad I also have a pair of Sunclouds. One stem broke. Lenses are perfect. Is there really no company anymore? I have looked and looked. This board appears to confirm my worse fears.

Most of the Suncloud frames were the same frames as the Vaurnet, so the lenses should fit. Someone named Dan above was saying they are back in business??? Where??? what is the website/phone number? I looked at Bausch & Lomb online and came up with a phone number for Luxottica 1-800-343-5594, but the woman I spoke to said everyone who knew anything was out to lunch, an d she couldn't even tell me if Bausche & Lomb was bought out by them, and she had never heard of Suncloud. Maybe if Bausche & Lomb got enough calls they would post something on their website?

Ok, after some very intensive research I know what the real deal with suncloud is. They were indeed out of business for a few years. Another company ( outlook eyewear ) began manufacturing them again a couple of years ago. Yet another company bought outlook ( safilo ) and has decided that suncloud does not have a large enough following to warrant their marketing at the moment. Inside info I received is that colorado and So. Cal are the only real markets for suncloud. I was told there is no international interest in them.
I found all of this out because when they were available recently, no one even knew about them. I was lucky enough to find them at a tiny local retailer. Sunglass hut, and every other place online didnt even know they were available again. I wanted to become a distributor, because sunclouds
are the best and I thought there were enough people out there who would agree with me. I figured all these people wanted them, but didnt know how to get their hands on them.

I actually have the Sales directors contact info, and was told if a good amount of interest could be proved, they might be willing to reevaluate the decision to stop production.

I guess Im wondering if the market is actually as small as they believe, or if it might be possible for us suncloud enthusiasts to band together, spread the word, and begin to see the world through rose colored lenses once again. Any thoughts?

I would sign a petition to get the company to listen. I pulled an old pair of sunclouds out yesterday because my persciptioned sunglasses were left somewhere. WOW, my eyes were in heaven. I had forgotten why we only bought sunclouds for years. I thought I would look them up and order more but found all of this valuable information instead. Northern Ca. wants them also.
