bushnell xlt 8x28 vs nikon ecobins

Just a note on the [link=http://www.opticsplanet.com/vortex-brand.html]Vortex[/link] Diamondback 8x28. The [link=http://www.OpticsPlanet.Com]optics[/link] ar just barely acceptable, though most people would not complain too much. But the eye relief is too long, I got black outs easily and found no easy way to place them near the eyes. So they went back.

The Excursion 8x28 is OK, but I just glued the outer skin of the eye cups back for the third time. It is on a metal frame, the eye cup.

I am getting a [link=http://www.opticsplanet.com/vortex-brand.html]Vortex[/link] Vanquish 8x26 reverse porro for hiking etc activities where the binos are not the main activity. They fit in my coat pocket.

There are a few 8x28 models coming along worth looking at. I am going to try [link=http://www.opticsplanet.com/vortex-brand.html]Vortex[/link] Diamondback 8x28.

The Ecobin wins in terms of [link=http://www.OpticsPlanet.Com]optics[/link], but handling typically favors a roof like the Trophy, though some folks do prefer a reverse porro, here, in a compact.

A roof, like the Trophy, in order to even compete with a good porro like the Ecobins, would have to be at least phase-corrected, like the [link=http://www.opticsplanet.com/bushnell.html]Bushnell[/link] Excursion or Legend. The Trophy is not phase-corrected. If you want [link=http://www.OpticsPlanet.Com]optics[/link] more comparable to the Ecobins, you would need to upgrade to the Legend or Excursion series and, even then, I'd still give a slight edge to the Ecobins. Be almost impossible to beat the Ecobins for the bang for the buck in terms of [link=http://www.OpticsPlanet.Com]optics[/link]

Has anyone tried out this new trophy series 10x28 and be able to compare it with the same price class [link=http://www.opticsplanet.com/nikon-brand.html]nikon[/link] ecobin (i am aware that one is roof another reverse porro). What do You think which one has better image quality and better handling overall, which one would you buy? Thanks
