Okay, glad to help, if I can.
I haven't had the opportunity to check out the new ED version of the E2, but the older version of the E2, without ED could stand on its own, very nicely with the SP, so I would expect great things from the E2 ED. To be honest, though, I don't think ED makes quite as much difference in a
binocular as, say,
spotting scopes or camera lenses, but it doesn't hurt, either. Just don't make the ED feature the primary reason for your choice. As for other features, I rate build quality and handling to be about equal, so, overall, this would be a tough choice for me. Would come right down to having both in hand, side-by-side, for me. Not much help, I know, but this is a tough one to call.
