NikonMonarch 8x42 binoculars lens covers

If you are talking the old model, those objective covers have been widely criticized. The new Monarch 3, 5 and so on have better lens covers.

To be honest, most people I know, myself included, just leave the objective covers in the box, anyway. Been using binoculars for forty years without objective covers and have never scratched an objective. Covers are mostly just in the way when you need to use your binoculars in a hurry, but each to their own.

I purchased these binoculars a few months ago and am very disappointed with the lens covers.
They do not stay on and seem to be very inferior workmanship for such a well regarded product.
I tried to contact Nikon about the problem, but the only reply I had was to take a survey of
how I liked the product and support. Considering I did not get any support, I thought this was
rather lame of them. Has anyone else found Nikon support to be non-existent?? Has anyone found any other lens
covers to work?
