Thank you for the post. When it comes to the tricky Wayfarer one needs to get out there and just try them on. I also have a big head and none seem to work but the Justins.

You are correct the Ray-Ban Wayfarer Square Sunglasses RB2151 is only offered with the non-polarized G15 lens in 52mm. I can't tell you it would fit but you can certainly try it on. We have them in stock and ready to ship for free. I appreciate the fact that you prefer polarized lenses. We can have our lab make polarized lenses if this is the size for you. Let me know if you are interested in a price quote.

Oops, I meant 2151, of the Square Wayfarer.

I currently have a pair of 5022's, which fit my large noggin well, but they've seen better days, and I want polarized lenses. Also, one thing that's always bothered me about them is that, while the overall fit is better than most sunglasses on the market (I have a big head, as I said), sometimes the bottoms of the frame come into contact with my cheeks.

From what I've read, the 2140's seem to the current equivalent?

I've tried the 2132 (don't recall which size--52 or 55mm), and they seem ok. I think I prefer them to the 2140.

But, I'm wondering if the 2152 is the way to go? Unfortunately, it appears that they aren't available with polarized lenses any longer, even if they ever were.

Hello and thank you for the post. The Ray-Ban RB4181 Sunglasses are only available in one size and that is 57mm. The Ray-Ban Original Wayfarer Sunglasses RB2140 is offered in 2 sizes, the 50 and 54mm. I wouldn't be able to tell which model would fit better but the 54mm in the RB2140 would be better than the 50mm. You may want to consider the Ray-Ban RB4165 Sunglasses. The largest size it offers is the 54mm but for some reason it fits so much better on me than the RB2140. It's worth a shot.

Best of Luck to you!

Hi there,

I tried two pairs of glasses in the airport RB2140 and RB4181 and the ones that suited me better were RB4181 601/71. I like the size but not the shape. The RB2140 were nicer but looked smaller in my face (dont know the size but they only had that pair in stock).

What model/size of 2140 would be closer in size to RB4181 601/71? That is my favourite design.

Thanks in advance

Hello, I would start with the Ray-Ban Original Wayfarer Sunglasses RB2140 in 50mm. That might be perfect.

Please let me know what you think.

The RB2140 and the RB4105 have a slightly differentt shape to the lenses. I would suggest you take them to a local optical retailer and get a professional in-person opinion.

Hello, I have a question about the foldable ray bans 4105. I have a pair of original wayfarers 2140 54mm which I put prescription lenses into. Will the lenses from the 54mm 2140 fit into the 54mm foldable wayfarers? It seems the foldable ones have less of a tilt which bothers me about the 2140's, thanks.

Known for its protective, durable, fashionable, practical and timeless features, Ray Ban sunglasses continue to impress its clientele over the years. What made it stood out back then was the quality and effectiveness of its sunglasses in protecting the eyes against extreme light. Introduced in the 1930s, it was the first to use polarized technology.

Hello,

Thank you for the post. The dimensions you gave are 54 x 17 x 145. This means the eye size is 54mm and a bridge of 17mm. I would invite you to start with the Ray-Ban Original Wayfarer Sunglasses RB2140 in 54mm. The RB2140 has a bridge of 18mm with that 54mm eye size. That should work for you in theory. If that is too big then go for the Ray-Ban Original Wayfarer Eyeglass Frames RX5121 in 50mm.

I hope that helps you out. Let us know what you think after you try them.

I currently wear glasses that are 54 x 17 x 145 and was looking to get either the 5121 in 50 or the 2140 in 54. Not sure if the 50 will be too small or the 54 will be too big.

Thanks for your time!

Hello,
I can't guarantee it would fit an Asian better but certainly it's worth a try. Ray-Ban had that bone structure in mind when they designed RB2140A. The best way to determine fit is to try it on. That is if you can still find them, they were a limited model that isn't in production anymore.

I hope this helps.

larumd wrote:The Ray-Ban RB2140 Wayfarer Guide Polarized Sunglasses were an over-sized wayfarer design with straight temple arms. Ray-Ban Full Fit Wayfarer RB2140A sunglasses were made to accommodate petite faces with higher cheekbones for a more tighter fit. Exact to the Original Ray-Ban Wayfarer in style and design; a customized fit with an adjusted frame.

Does this mean that the Full Fit style fits Asians better (i.e. little nose bridge, round face)?
