Hi! Well, I only paid Php 2,500 (equivalent of USD 60.00) for this pair. :D It'd be a shame to see it only lying around in a junk shop!

Hello, Thanks for the picture. The fact that the model number and information is "engraved/stamped" and not printed tells me that these are very old; back when Bausch and Lomb owned Ray-Ban. This is further proven by the present asterisk (*). The Ray-Ban Original Wayfarer Sunglasses RB2140 would be the model equivalent to the old RL5022 now produced in Italy.

What a great find. Do you mind me askign what you spent for them?

BL 5022 WAYFARER but with strange markings

Hi, I recently found a B&L 5022 Wayfarer in a junk shop. It has B&L etches on both G-15 glass lenses, it has the right 7-pring hinges with the rounded tab, but I am curious with the markings. Normally the arms should say "B&L Ray-Ban U.S.A." and "WAYFARER" and a "BL5022" behind the face. But what I have here, they all end with an asterisk (*). http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7026/6555 ... ab38_b.jpg

What gives? Do I have a different 5022 variant?
