Hello Joanie!

I spoke with one of your customer service representatives and they asked me to return back the item to my friend in New York as early as possible so that he can send it to your returns center within 10 days. I am really satisfied with the service and assistance as they've agreed to take back the item though the 30 days are going to expire tomorrow. I extremely thank you for guiding me in this. Hereafter, I should ship the telescopes only through UPS or Fedex for safety.

Again, sorry for the problems.

You should still contact OP customer service and discuss it with them. There is also Celestron as an option. I can give you technical advice and info, but, unfortunately, I don't have the authority to speak for OP customer service. I can tell you, though, that it has been my experience to never ship a telescope overseas. It is too risky - the odds of damage are too high - and it also causes warranty issues. Not much help, after the fact, I know, but I mention it for the sake of others who may read this post. Your first step, though, is to visit with OP customer service.

But, Joanie, the telescope has been brought to India. It was delivered in New York at my friend's house on 26th of September. The telescope is damaged internally, though it's carton is in good condition outside. Also, the telescope doesn't look new and I suppose that they have sent a restocked telescope which had been previously returned by some other customer in the United States. I don't know what to do???

Hi!
My Astromaster's dew cap is always coming out removed slightly whenever I remove the lens cap from the front part of OTA and it's very loose. The next thing is there are very hard dents,scratches and white patches in both the counter weights and in some places on the mount the paint is removed. Inside the telescope box, the small packages containing the counterweights were severely damaged internally when I opened the box. And the telescope package was not packed into one of your boxes with cushioning materials though Optics Planet's agents assured me that it would be packed compulsorily into one of your boxes. On the whole I am not at all satisfied with the item in any way. Please help me with your suggestions on how I can proceed with this issue.
