Questions about the Celestron C5

Hi

Should come with the 6x30 as per [link=http://www.opticsplanet.com/celestron-brand.html]Celestron[/link], since OP will need to order it from them, anyway. As finder [link=http://www.opticsplanet.com/leupold-brand.html]scopes[/link] go, a 6x30 isn't much, either, but will be fine for day use. For astronomy, you may want to upgrade that to an 8x50 at some point down the road.

Need to ask you another qs tho...according to [link=http://www.opticsplanet.com/celestron-brand.html]Celestron[/link] official site and support team (i emailed them), the C5 spotter should come with the "6x30" finderscope. However, according to OpticsPlanet, it comes with the "8x20" finder..which does not gather as much light as the former ( a review say its up to three times less) :?

So, if i were to purchase from this store, can i have the 6x30 instead of the weaker performing 8x20?

I'd recommend the 93633A adapter and then a t-ring fro your brand and make of SLR or DSLR if you want to do the job right and get a secure, solid connection with your SLR or DSLR body. The [link=http://www.opticsplanet.com/celestron-brand.html]Celestron[/link] Universal T-Adapter is for use in reflectors or refractors - fits in the focuser/diagonal - but serves the same purpose. You could possibly make it work by dropping it the diagonal on the C5, IF you have enough focus travel left on the scope. You could also insert it in a visual back, if you equip the C5 with one, yes. As long as you come to focus, any of these setups will produce the same results. No, t-thread and SCT thread are different sizes, so not going to be able to mount a t-ring directly to the back of an SCT.

I plan to purchase the C5 soon for terrestrial viewing and photography. My questions are:

1) Can the T-Ring be screwed onto the threaded end of the C5 Visual Back?

2) Can the [link=http://www.opticsplanet.com/celestron-brand.html]Celestron[/link] Universal T-Adapter produce an image that is the same (in quality, focus and FOV) as the SCT T-Adapter 93633-A? Also, since the Universal one is just slotted into the Visual Back (and hold in place by 1 or 2 screws??), will it slacken a bit with the weight of the camera attached and thus make the image in focus slightly out? I read one user moaning bout it somewhere... :? Is this true?
