I have this tripod and I have had no problems with it. I've had a 400mm f5.6 lens mounted on a D1X. Mind you, I swapped heads for a newer manfroto one.

I have a 20+ yr old velbon VGB 3 #2627810 tripod and I would like to know if it can handle having a wimberley or jubo head on it along with my Nikon D50 with a 300mm afs F4 lens and 1.4 TC attached.
