if a 14x loupe is not enough, you need a stereo mocriscope such as the LOMO SF-50 Stereo Microscopes, it will provide better lighting, more viewing comfort and more magnification.

Sometimes, with my 14x loupe, I still cannot read hallmarks or other markings on various old items, i.e., silver, jewelry, minature items. The loupe is too large to focus, not powerful enough, lacks sufficient lighting, or neither of my hands are free to hold the item for examination. Do you have any recommendations to assist me with these issues? If more than one instrument is needed, please advise me which ones you believe are best suited. (I currently use a 14x Hasting Triplet Vausch & Lomb Loupe).
Thank you.
