Hi

An LED usually burns a little cooler, but have had reports on the Celestron that the LED is actually quite hot. May or may not be a factor for your application.

As I see it - for $150 you get the following on the Celestron:

2 eyepieces on the Celestron (10x + 12.5x)
a set of color filters
LED bulbs verses halogen bulb

Very little. Both made in China with similar features.
