Really nothing you can do about the working distance, but you can change the field of view by going to a wide-angle design 1.25" telescope eyepieces, since these use the same barrel diameter as the LOMO. For some good, 60 degree designs, try the
Meade Series 5000 Super Plossl. For a wider angle, try the
Meade SuperWide.
These may change the overall magnification of the
LOMO, but they will also be a better quality eyepiece. Unfortuantely, can't tell you what focal length would be equivalent to the
LOMO eyepieces, since LOMO does not list a focal length for their eyepieces or for their microscope, though I would keep the focal lengths between 20 and 25mm to keep magnification down.
