Hi

The P-111 comes with two sets of eyepieces, 7x, 15x and has three objectives, 9x, 20x, 40x. To determine magnification, multiply eyepiece magnification times the objective being used. The highest possible magnification is 15x eyepiece with the 40x objective = 600x.

Question about LOMO P-111 Modular Brightfield Microscope

The microscopes that we have in our laboratory are much more expensive than this one but I want an inexpensive microscope for home that I can still see bacterial cells with. The microscopes in our lab have a 10x magnification in the eyepiece and 10x, 20x, 40x, and 100x oil emersion objective lenses. In my research I usually use the 40x objective anwith the eyepiece magnification I get a 400x magnification. Am I to understand that this LOMO P-111 has a total of 600x magnification? Please explain the magnification of this model to me.
