You can attach any camera to this
tripod, but as to stability with a large telephoto lens, this will not perform as well as a larger or more expensive model. For serious camera work, I'd recommend a
Bogen Manfrotto 3180N
Tripod and Head Kit, but even moving up to an all metal head
tripod, such as the
Nikon Manfrotto
Tripod Full-Size 848 or
Bushnell Advanced Titanium
Tripod 784040 will be an improvement over the
Nikon 851 with its plastic head.
