lens or teleconverter for Sony DSC H1

We don't carry Sony, but in cameras of this type, I can guarantee you that accessories like add on lenses are VERY model specific and, when available, often require the additional purchase of an adapter. Before I would buy anything, I would visit, directly, with a Sony dealer on this.

Your other option, of course, is to look at a new camera that has the features you want, right from the start. This is probably the cost effective way to go if your old Sony is showing its age. After five years or so, focusing motors and software start to become issues. Might be time to consider going right into a DSLR to get all those lens options.

I've got a sony DSC H1 camera that I've had for a couple of years now. I really enjoy the camera, but I would like to get aa telephoto lens or teleconverter for my camera. Maybe later down the road I would like to get a wide angle lense as well. I've tried to do some research on what's available, but unfortunately most websites don't have a "search for acessories by brand/model function LOL. Sony no longer offers the Sony VCL-DH1758. I have found it elsewhere online and it looks like a decent lense, with overall good reviews. However I'd like to see what else is available and compatible with this camera. I've seen some lenses claiming compatability with the DSC H1 on eBay for less than 50 bucks, but most don't even give a manufacturer name. That makes me very leary along with the too good to be true price.

So what is available for my camera? What brand names are good? I'm not seeing any brands that I would typically see or associate with SLR camera equipment
