In this price range I would recommend a digital night vision unit. This Bushnell Stealth View will out perform most Generation One night vision devices in terms of potential sight distance. Digital night vision also does not use intensifier tubes, so you do not have to worry about light damaging the unit. On a night with a half moon you should have no problem seeing out to 100 yards.

Hello,
I am new to the night vision arena. My husband and I have many outdoor hobbies and I though night goggles would be a nice addition to all of our other gadgets. I have been comparing the night detective 3 googled to ones by Yukon tracker that are roughly in the same price range ( $400 - 500). We would be using the goggles for night fishing and just look at some critters at night. Any suggestions on what model is best for basic use in that price range? Thank you!!!
