Digisight N550 with Streamlight 69118 Flip Lens

The dim red light you see in the front of the Digisight N550 is the illuminator and can be turned off, but it may significantly reduce your viewing ability depending on how much ambient light there is. As for the TLR-1 IR filter, it should convert your white light to be visible only with the [link=http://www.opticsplanet.com/nightvision.html]night vision[/link], BUT it will only work with the Xenon models and not the LED version.

I have a digisight N550. I have two questions. First, I noticed that when looking at the site from the front you can see a "red" light. Is there anyway to muffle this or make it less noticeable? Second, I have a [link=http://www.opticsplanet.com/streamlight-tlr1-weapon-mounted-flashlight.html]Streamlight TLR-1[/link] LED Rail Mounted [link=http://www.opticsplanet.com/flashlights.html]flashlight[/link]. They make a [link=http://www.opticsplanet.com/streamlight-brand.html]Streamlight[/link] 69118 Flip Lens flip lens (Infra Red) that fits this light. Does anyone know if this will work with the n550? Does the n550 pick up infra red light to view the image? Sorry but I am new to NV and trying to get the basics. Thanks.
