Actually, the [url=http://www.opticsplanet.com/redfield-revenge-3-9x52mm-rifle-scope.html]Revenge 3-9x50[/url] is made here, and the Revolution is made off-shore. A bit more money, but the Revenge would be a better choice.
I like [b][link=http://www.opticsplanet.com/leupold-brand.html]Leupold[/link] dual dovetails[/b]. Your head will be slightly higher with high rings and a 50mm objective, but the performance will muchly outweigh the detriment, which is small.
Try matte, [url=http://www.opticsplanet.com/leupold-duel-dovetail-dd-2pc-2-piece-bases.html]reversible front base #50044[/url], and [url=http://www.opticsplanet.com/leupold-dual-dovetail-dd-rings.html]matte high rings #49918[/url].

thanks steve , you have confirmed all that i learnt from other blogs about bigger objective lens and exit pupil size etc. in as much as i need a bigger objective lens , what about the " revolution 3-9X50 " , or would that have to be mounted too high ? , i know my budget is not great , but i would like to get the best my money can buy .

You need a strong scope with a larger objective and not too much magnification for a larger exit pupil, and therefore, more light. Really tough products made by [link=http://www.opticsplanet.com/leupold-brand.html]Leupold[/link], and one of the best values in a modern design with great resolution and light transmission.

hi all , what would be a good scope for this : [link=http://www.opticsplanet.com/remington-brand.html]remington[/link] 700 - .243 . used mainly at night with spotlights (south america) , by not so young gentlemen , so eyesight is a little problem . Avg. range 50-150yds. Do not want to spend more than $250. thanks .
