Yes, my bad, sorry. This is the correct link for the Revolution I meant to put in. The Revolutions are made here. I've been to the Leupold factory in Beaverton, I should've known better.

hey steve , did u get somethings mixed up here ? isn't the revolution made in usa and revenge in philipines ?

Actually, the Revenge 3-9x50 is made here, and the Revolution is made off-shore. A bit more money, but the Revenge would be a better choice.
I like Leupold dual dovetails. Your head will be slightly higher with high rings and a 50mm objective, but the performance will muchly outweigh the detriment, which is small.
Try matte, reversible front base #50044, and matte high rings #49918.

thanks steve , you have confirmed all that i learnt from other blogs about bigger objective lens and exit pupil size etc. in as much as i need a bigger objective lens , what about the " revolution 3-9X50 " , or would that have to be mounted too high ? , i know my budget is not great , but i would like to get the best my money can buy .

Try the Redfield Revenge 3-9x42 with either the 4 Plex or the Accu-Ranger Hunter reticle. You need a strong scope with a larger objective and not too much magnification for a larger exit pupil, and therefore, more light. Really tough products made by Leupold, and one of the best values in a modern design with great resolution and light transmission.

hi all , what would be a good scope for this : remington 700 - .243 . used mainly at night with spotlights (south america) , by not so young gentlemen , so eyesight is a little problem . Avg. range 50-150yds. Do not want to spend more than $250. thanks .
