The ED on the Elite will get you a bit more resolution at higher magnifications and build quality is better (made in Japan vs made in China for the
Nikon), but I rate the Prostaff as a bit brighter scope. Since you are in that general price rnage, my favorite is the
Brunton Eterna 80 mm - it is as bright as the
Nikon and as sharp or sharper than the Elite.
