Hi

The pics did not link up, but I coped and pasted in the address on google and found it.

Just from the pic, I can't get you a positive ID. You might try to remove the front lens cap and see if there are any markings on the ring around the lens. Other than that, it appears to be a generic Japanese spotting scope, vintage 60s or so. Lots of these around in the day when almost all of the no name stuff was imported from Japan. China had yet to become the big player in this arena.

A chip is no doubt heart-breaking, but it won't seriously affect the usability of the scope, so I would be in no hurry to have it repaired and, besides, your chances of finding replacement parts on something this old are zilch, even if it was a well known brand of scope.

Help Identifying and Old spotting scope

My Father is getting on in age and just recently handed over is collection of guns, reloading equipment and an old spotting scope. Yesterday, I opened up the box, which appears to be hand made and starting checking out the scope. When I removed the lens cap, I noticed some debris on the inside of the glass. As it turns out, the lens is removable so decided to clean it up. During the process of removing the lens from the scope I managed to chip the lens. He has had this thing for eons and never had a problem. I get it for less than an hour and I've managed to screw it up! My hope is to find out what kind of scope it is and hopefully get the lens replaced and I could use some help. I have been scouring the internet of two days and have not found any that matches. There's what I know:

1 The scope itself has a flat green finish with texture and a large black and aluminum focus ring in the middle

2 45 degree angle mount for screw in eyepieces, there are 5 eyepieces total

3 The eyepieces say “Made in Japan” and have “Atlas Coated” on them in gold lettering plus the different sizes though I did not write them all down. The 4 came mounted on a black plastic base and a white plastic cap screws down on to the base making it look like an oil filter. I was not smart enough to take a picture of this but I could if necessary.

4 One of the eyepieces has “No 19724” on it. It is the only one with any kind of markings other than previously mentioned (picture included)

5 The scope has an extendable sun shade with a screw on lens cap

6 There is no mounting device on the scope but does have a flat spot opposite the screw in eyepiece to set it on something flat

Hopefully, I can attach pictures:
