The Kowa is a VERY nice piece of equipment. The Vortex is no slouch, but the Kowa is really impressive.

Joanie,
I may be able to swing another $500. Which do you suggest now? Kowa 664, Vortex Razor,?? Any other? Which will be better for digiscoping as well as lookin at atler size?

thanks for your help

John

Hi

I'd make it the Pentax PF80-ED with the zoom eyepiece option. That's right at $1000 and easily the best buy at that price. Also a great buy is the Bushnell Elite 20-60x80. Really won't do better than these unless you spend another $500 or more.

Joanie,
I am looking for the best spotting scope for about $1000.00. Don't mind going over a little if it is worth it. I will mainly be glassing bean fields late in the day/dusk, from my truck. I want straight if I can get it. I want to be able to tell antler size at, the most, 500 yds. I have looked at Kowa, Pentex, Nikon, Vortex. Not sure which will give me the best view for the money. Thanks for any help.

John
