"Target" scope

Post by Mizzou on Mon Aug 27, 2012 11:20 am

I am in need of a spotting scope to see .223 holes @ 200 yards on "regular" targets. If possible, it would be great if the same scope could also see .223 holes @ 300 yards on "splatter" targets. This will only be used at the range, mostly under cover, so it does not need to be built like a tank. Similar to most, I would like to be as cost conscious as possible. I have tried the cheapo models at the local sporting goods stores and was not happy with the lack of clarity, so I assume most $100 spotters are out. If possible, I would like to stay under $250. I did look around on the site and the suggestions I found were for older, discontinued scopes that were not available. Thanks to all who read and respond as I am sure this type of question is often posted!
