Tripod for Bushnell Spotting Scope

Post by North GA on Sat Jan 03, 2009 2:21 pm

Thanks for your prompt reply.

Since the Bushnell 78040 and the Nikon 848 are so close in price, which one would you recommend? I will use it while traveling in my rv as well as on the front porch of my home looking at the mountains about 2-3K feet from my location.

Thanks

Hi

Going to cheap on a tripod is a big mistake. If you spend less than the Bushnell 784030, you get a plastic head. To get the same thing with a quick-release plate, you need to move up to the 784040 or the excellent Nikon 848. Do you want to put a scope on a tripod with a plastic head? Not me, but that's your call.

For a good useable windowe mount, the Nikon 7070 is a good choice.

For a universal digiscoping adapter, I like the Alpen 706

I am a new spotting scope user. A Bushnell Trophy 20-60X65 is on the way from your business. After reading on your site, I see that I am going to need a few accessories.
1. Tripod
2. Window mount
3. Digiscoping adaptor for a point and shoot Kodak

I don't want to waste my money on junk trying to get something I can use, but I don't think it wise to spend more on a tripod than the scope I bought.

Please give me some advice.
