The Konus 300x is, as advertised, a toy and it is not recommended for any serious use. Image quality at 300x is poor. Not recommended for your application.

Try a standard microscope such as the LOMO P-111, or Celestron 4050,

Konus 300x Microscope

Hello everyone,
I hope someone can answer my question. First of all, this will be my first microscope purchase. This is what i want to accomplish. I want to take drops of water, place on a slide, freeze, and look at the ice crystal formations.

I am looking at the Konus 300x. Am i to understand correctly, that i can hook it up to a computer with USB connector and i will see what is being viewed on my computer screen? Is it that simple and easy? Also if i have it hooked to my computer, will i be able to look at it from the microscope lens or what ever you call it?

Or should i go with a simple microscope? I like the idea of being able to print out the results. The konus has 300x magnification, but what kind of resolution does it have? Is the Konus right for the application i want to do?
Thank you for your help.
