Well, with current exchange rates, that equates to almost $1,100 US. I'm not sure that's worth almost triple the cost, but who knows what the actual price might come out to if they decide to bring it to the US market.

I guess the Ranger Pro is gonna be a good unit and a full-fledged substitute for the basic Ranger. Due to advanced electronic components the device will cost twice as much as the Ranger but I think it;s worth.
The more you pay the better performance you get!

I just spoke to Yukon about this model. The Pro model is not currently available in the US market, but they might think about bringing it over. The Main difference is the chipset. The updated chipset of the Pro model has a higher resolution, is more sensitive to low light and has a much longer range at an advertised 600 meters vs. 700 feet for the original. They did say it will be a substantial cost increase but did not mention any dollar amounts.

Thanks for the reply - links are below on details. I have been following this for a few weeks, and I am interested in buying one between now and June but would like info when people have a chance to review ( I have a base model and am a fan of it ). Right now I have seen listings in Russia, Japan, and England but not seen sales in US yet. If anyone has info, please post.

In January 2008 Yukon Advanced Optics will be presenting a new digital night vision device Ranger Pro 5x42. This device features greater sensitivity and increased viewing range. ... -5x42.html

The Ranger Pro 5x42 is a vivid example of successful application of digital technologies in observation optics. Currently this is the ultimate night vision digital device. The Ranger Pro features impressive 5-power magnification and large viewing range – up to 600 metres. This is due to a highly sensitive CCD array and new Sum Light tm software technology employed in the Ranger Pro device. The Ranger Pro 5x42 can surely compete with the Gen.2 in image sharpness and brightness. The image transmitted to the monochrome LCD display is crisp and sharp on the entire field of view. The device is able to capture effectively the light flux of a wide wave range in conditions of natural night illumination. To conduct observation on a cloudy moonless night, the adjustable IR illuminator can be used. The wave length amounts to 940nm (remote area of the IR range, invisible to the human eye) – the observer is “invisible” even if the unit is used in the active mode. The built-in video output allows transferring of the image to a monitor or a TV set which facilitates long-time stationary viewing, and video recording to external recording devices.

I haven't seen anything on the Ranger Pro DNV, but we do carry the Digital Night Ranger. This is difficult to keep in stock and it is a nice model. Yukon's website says nothing about a Pro model of this unit.

Looks like this product is starting to become available from searches on the net that I have done. Anyone seen any reviews on it yet?
