The picture of a gen one cannot be compared with the view of a digital. The digital is many times better in resolution. The lower magnification of the gen one unit will give a better field of view, but if you're that close, who cares? It shouldn't be an issue if you're concerned about finding the animal.

night vision for deer spotting

I'm looking for a night vision aid for detecting the presence of deer from 15 to 25 yards away. Deciding between Bushnell Stealth View, Yukon Phantom Digital, or Bushnell Night Vision 2.5X42 binoculars. I would like a quality image with range and equally important, a usable field of view.
