Magnification is the determining factor in FOV. More magnification will mean a smaller field of view. there are always some small factors which change it up a little bit, that's why you will see the same magnification between different units with a different field of view. The rule is though, more magnification = smaller field of view.

Thanks for the quick info on my question. I just couldn't figure out why no one has reviewed this device. Price wise, these things punch well above their weight. Any idea why the field of view is so narrow? This dnv has a five degree fov, whereas my gen 1 has twenty degrees. The gen 1 objective lens is even twelve millimeters smaller! The magnification is a factor, yes? (DNV=3.5x42--GEN1=2x30)

The Twilight is a newer model that came out this past year. With the success of the digital units like the Night Ranger it was made clear that smaller digital units were the next step. Yukon has an interesting website that doesn't always have all their products. They are owned by Sellmark which is a large company. The Twilight has been out maybe less than a year though.

Very recently I ordered the Yukon Twilight 3.5x42 dnv monocular (model-YK28012)I'm elated! It beats the sockes off my Night Owl 2x nexgen in every area except field of view. I can tell you every spec. on the device:battery life, ir wavelength, weight and dimensions. what I can't find is when the device was developed and how long it's been on the market. there is NO information on the Yukon website. I can find no user reviews---anywhere! Is this so new a device that Yukon just has not had time to put on their site? Any insight would be appreciated. That includes any interactions any of you have had with it. I also wanted to say how much I enjoy doing business with these people at Optics Planet! Thanks in advance for the help.
