Its a nice unit as long as you know whats its working ranges are. A gen 1 scope like the MK390 is nice for shooting 100 yards and less for most conditions. What I mean by that is all night vision needs some ambient light or IR illumination, so this scope works well with a little starlight or moonlight but also does have an IR illuminator. Gen 1 is limited to around 100 yards to get the recognition you need though. I've used these at around 75 yards and they have worked very well. So if you are shooting 100 yards or less, this would be a nice choice for you.
