The Streamlight Super Tac IR light is getting very good reviews and out to those same 200 + yards disances.

Are there more powerful lights that you can use other than the Yukon?

The Yukon IR with the Weaver mount will work the best for you, but I can't say that you can do anything at all to shoot at 250 yards in low light conditions with your 550. Max range depends on ambient light.

I am looking to see what is recommended for an add-on IR Illuminator on a Digisight N550. I am trying to put something together that will make the scope effective for as long of range as possible. Preferably for making shots at 200-250 yards at night. Or to be able to at least see that far if possible. What is recommended? What optical range would the recommend light work in, as well as effective yardage range you will be able to see in?
