Hi Frank

I've heard problems with all rangefinders, so always hard to tell from the gossip, but the brand we carry with the lowest return rate is the Nikon. I also like the Nikons for their simplicity, their good optics and easy to read screens. If waterproof is not an issue, the lttle 600 will work, but the Nikon Monarch 800 will gi ve you more margin for error and is also waterproof.

Just remember that all advertising as to ranges on LRFs is pretty much hot air. Out in the field, you will often have to resort to targeting a nearby object, rather than a deer, itself, to get a reading. Can't say I know of any LRF that will reliably give you reading off a deer past 300 yards.

I am looking for a good laser rangefinder for deer hunting. I will never do a shot more then 200 yards and will not need a power over 400 yards or so. I read where people have trouble with the Bushnell as well as the Nikon. I have trusted your judgement in the past on rifle scopes and ask once again for your help.
