MagnificationChanger - All trinocular Multiscopes™ come with LOMO's HT-30 trinocular head. The HT-30 includes a unique and versatile dial-in,field-flattening, magnification-changer capable of boosting magnifications by upto 250%! The rotating magnification changer has 4 positions. The first threepositions have magnification values of 1.1x, 1.6x and 2.5x, respectively.Therefore, with the standard 10x widefield eyepieces and the 4x objective, themicroscope can yield images with magnifications of 44x, 64x or 100x. Using the10x objective with the 10x eyepieces, the microscopes can yield imagemagnifications of 110x, 160x or 250x. Using the 40x objective produces 440x,640x or 1000x, and so on to the 100x oil immersion objective, which can producemagnifications of 1,100x, 1,600x or 2,500x. The fourth position of themagnification changer contains a Bertrand Lens. This useful device looks intothe objective back focal plane, which is beneficial for aligning the bulb in theoptical system, aligning phase rings for phase contrast, and looking atinterference figures using polarized light. Such a magnification range requiresan ultra-precise focusing system. The "FineWheel™" fine focuscontrol is ergonomically placed in the base of the microscope to limitunnecessary hand movement, and is coupled to one of the smoothest, most precisefocusing systems in the microscope industry.
The LOMO®TRH4-POL also includes a brilliant 12V/20W variable intensity illuminatorwith a centerable bulb, and a precision 12-leaf aperture iris diaphragm in thesub-stage condenser. A swing-out reduction lens on the condenser allows thecorrect illumination of the full field of view with all objectives ranging from4x to 100x. The built-in lamp housing sharply and evenly illuminates thespecimen, while the external, variable intensity power supply keeps anytransformer heat away from the microscope.
Should you wishto "turbo-charge" your illumination to aid in high-magnificationobservations, or to add brightness to your sample's birefringence, a modestlypriced 6V/15W halogen Koehler illuminator may be purchased as an optionalaccessory.

TMH4-POL-F:this configuration includes a 2.4x T-mount adapter (#VA-VAF2) for 35mmphotomicrography. If you do not have a camera that accepts T-mount lenses, thenyou will need to purchase a simple thread adapter. They are readily availablefrom photo shops such as Wolf, or Ritz, etc. and are usually around $10-$15. Forexample, you would like to place your Canon 35mm camera on the TRH4-POL-F.You would need to purchase a "Canon to T-mount" adapter, and then you canthread your camera directly onto the phototube of the microscope.
