Oberwerk 9x60mm Binoculars Product Info

Oberwerk 9x60 Binoculars - is one of constant binoculars best buys! We have recently added full line Oberwerk Binoculars to our already wide selection of binoculars, and the reviews and feedback on Oberwerk Binoculars from the customers has been superb. Oberwerk Binoculars are made in China, but unlike many cheap binoculars from this country, Oberwerk Binoculars have remarkable performance and quality for the price. Recently we have selected Oberwerk 9x60 binocular model as a perfect choice for people who want to find an inexpensive way to start enjoying astronomy while traveling. It means we needed a pair of bright binoculars that were still relatively small and light, but not too powerful so they could be handheld (we normally do not recommend binoculars with magnification above 10x-12x for use without a tripod - high power binoculars are harder to hand-hold without creating a shaky image). We knew that at just over a hundred dollars shipped Oberwerk 9x60 binoculars would fit the bill for most of our customers, and there are not many astronomy binoculars that we can find at this price. Since we were looking for something for astronomy, light gathering was one of the most important qualities, and we wanted the largest aperture we could get that would allow us to hold them comfortably for at least thirty minutes. The 60mm objective lens, high-quality BAK4 prisms, and multi-coated optics of the Oberwerk Binoculars delivered unbelievable view of the night sky! This binocular model, at our price especially, is highly recommended for hand-held astronomy as well as use in low light conditions.

Oberwerk high-quality 60mm binoculars- at a 50mm price! That extra 10mm doesn't sound like very much- but 60mm objectives gather 30% more light than 50mm models (surface area = pi*r2). With that much extra light-gathering power, these are ideal for a low-cost entry into binocular astronomy. They are also excellent for birding, nautical applications, and surveillance.

Not only do you get big 60mm objectives- you get the same highest-quality BAK4 prisms that are found in much more expensive models. All air-to-glass surfaces are fully coated to decrease light loss due to scattering and reflections. Objectives have highest-quality green/purple broadband multi-coatings, typically only found on binoculars with much higher price tags.

All Oberwerk binoculars have rugged rubber-armored metal bodies, all-glass lenses, right ocular diopter adjustment, brass 1/4-20 tripod adapter threading, case, caps, and strap.

Helpful Positive Review WOW!!! These are GREAT!!! by Legacy Reviewer, November 1, 2008
These are great to see the stars with. Hand holding is a piece of cake (All binoculars shake a little bit). These are very light and well balanced. Can see a lot more faint object than the 50mm binoculars. Andromeda is still a smudge, but a clear and...

Helpful Negative Review You get a bit more than you pay for here by Legacy Reviewer, September 3, 2009
Optics Planet sent it to the wrong address - be very careful if you order on line - even if you change your address (if different than your billing address) the first entry sticks and even though it looks like it changes it doesn't - also no way to c...
Most Recent Review Excellent astronomy binoculars by Legacy Reviewer, July 3, 2010
Over the past 4 years, I have been using a pair of good quality 15x70 binoculars for astronomy. Being made in China, they had uneven multicoatings (stronger on the right side), but it was something I could live with. However, a 15x70 pair is quite he...

Most Recent Review Great Binos by Legacy Reviewer, August 1, 2007
These are a great pair of binoculars, and I am very happy with them. I bought them for astronomy and they are great for that; the 60mm lenses really excel in the dark. One thing: at 9x you might think these can be hand-held... and maybe *you* can.....
