What's the difference? Well, line-of-sight distance is the distance from the rangefinder to the target. Horizontal distance is the distance from the rangefinder to a point horizontal to the rangefinder directly above or below the target.
What does it mean? For hunters, it means aiming Opti-Logic XT rangefinder at a deer below your position or an elk above your position and getting the true distance that you need to calculate your trajectory. No guesses, no mental computations, no counting your fingers and toes. Just read the distance on the XT's external readout and aim accordingly.
The Opti-Logic 800XT rangefinders from OpticsPlanet.com are also ideal for archers, 3-D target shooters and law enforcement officials. Each Opti-logic XT model has simple one-button operation, runs off a single nine-volt battery, measures a minimum of four yards and has an automatic rain mode which detects and ignores highly reflective rain drops with no compromise to the other features of the unit. Accuracy is +/- one yard and each model can be programmed by the user to measure in feet, yards or meters.
