Product Category Description:

The GN-6 membrane is certified for the microbiological analysis of potable, waste, process, and natural waters in accordance with the Membrane Filter Technique referenced in Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater. Ideal for isolation and enumeration of total and fecal coliforms, E. coli, fecal Streptococcus, fungi, and other heterotrophic bacteria. The GN-4 membrane is suitable for air monitoring applications and meets NIOSH requirements for airborne metals and asbestos monitoring.

GN-6 and GN-4 Metricel membrane filters are made of mixed cellulose esters. GN-6 grids have a unique dot grid pattern that provides easy quantification of bacterial colonies without growth inhibition or enhancement. GN-4 membranes dissolve completely using standard digestion procedures, and clear completely for minimal interference in fiber counting. Autoclavable.

Ordering information: GN-6 is available sterile, individually packaged; in sterile packs of 10 with support pads; or nonsterile, bulk packed. GN-4 is available in nonsterile bulk packs, with or without support pads.
