Standard features of this case include stainless steel, ball-bearing, polyurethane wheels; a telescoping handle for easy transport; and rubberized top and side grips for maximum comfort.

Pelican 1640 Watertight Hard Heavy Duty Large Case is also available with optional features such as lid organizer or customizable padded utility dividers providing superior, reconfigurable protection for your sensitive equipment. Other accessories such as Pick 'N' Pluck foam and TSA-Accepted PeliLocks are available. Like all Pelican Protector Cases, Pelican 1640 Protector Large Case's engineering-grade polymer, cell-core construction helps Pelican 1640 case for shipping & carrying protect sensitive equipment in some of the most extreme conditions on Earth. The polymer o-ring helps seal out dust and water, while the Gore-Tex automatic pressure equalization valve allows air molecules to pass through, preventing "vacuum-lock".
